Re: Political office
Or critical medications for shut-ins? Did I say something that made you think I would oppose this? If you deliver the mail your job is to deliver it, not read other people's mail and judge it. And that, my friend, is why I won't take a job as a mail carrier. Because part of the job involves deliver...

Re: Photography Sinful ?
It was only a few years ago that I became aware of some Anabaptists (and I'm not aware of any Christians who believe this outside of Anabaptism but perhaps there are) that resist taking photographs as a violation of one of the 10 commandments. So, I had to look closely at this text in Exodus 20:3-6...

Re: Political office

Re: Political office
Why are you limiting your question to statewide legislative offices? Is there anything remotely Biblical that makes a distinction between elective office and other forms of public office? For example, here in Washington State the legislature is composed of 98 Representatives and 49 Senators for a t...

Re: Political office
I have never actually met any Mennonites that worked for CPS, and I wouldn’t be surprised if conservative groups would consider that a branch of law enforcement/wielding he sword, a lot like jury duty. Game warden would not be allowed in conservative circles, and Pete Lewis (Unconditional Surrender...

Re: Questions for Anabaptists: Plain or Old Order
A question I have been asked and I don't know the answer that a Plain or Old Order would give - Why do those who wear long dresses, head coverings and other non-modern styles of dress in daily wear, also wear the most modern, often quite colourful running shoes ? Since I am allowed questions - why ...

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
So what were the original guesses on how long it would take them to get the harbor back open? Yesterday was exactly 2 months since the bridge collapsed https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/1783854978454388819 We will see how long it takes to get the bridge replaced. That is obviously the more diff...

Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises
Flawed as the conservative Mennonite community may be, the finances, emotions, and time invested in trying to help newcomers and their families assimilate into the community stands as a testament to a desire that the new community members will share in the cultural capital of the community. I'm not...

Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises
If no culture is better than another culture, then it's not accurate to use the word "culture" to describe a lifestyle formed by intentional choices to live according to God's will. Right...though I think the term "God's will" needs some elucidating. Is the straight cut coat say...
