Re: Generally speaking
This thread brings John 21 to mind. He asks Peter, as us, to feed his sheep. Sometimes the feeding is quite lean. Other times it is quite abundant. This forum, as other forums, takes a certain personality to stick with it. It is not for everyone. The constant banter is annoying at times. This happe...

Re: Personality traits
I have a child who is neurodivergent, a sibling, an uncle, cousins and several close friends. It does NOT mean autistic. Someone with ADHD or ADD is considered neurodivergent. Personally I hate labels, but they can help us to understand one another at times, especially when we are not relating face...

Re: Story Time!
When a child, I dodged Nazi bombs. I was on a boat that sank and had to tread water until help came (no, dear Watson, it was NOT the HMS Titanic :D ). Later in life I helped to break a herd of feral hogs. Yesterday, I twisted an ankle trying to skip rope with the great grandchild. I believe the fir...

Re: Generally speaking
I'm gonna be the odd man out and draw this conclusion: MN tends to be a representation of our churches as a whole (meaning us that identify as Anabaptist, across the spectrum). I've witnessed the same attitudes/viciousness in a church setting, be it stuff said behind a person's back, half-truths, c...

Re: Questions about Communion / Lord's Supper
OJ, here is the teaching from the Catechism of the Catholic Church which is an official teaching document of the Magisterium. I excised the relevant bits but I would also caution that this excerpt is also a part of a larger section and should be read in the context of the whole which is far too lon...

Re: Today ...
Today is Holy Wednesday or "Spy" Wednesday in lay parlance. Signing off for the rest of Passiontide and I shall see you when I see you. May you all be blessed with God's graces.

Re: Questions about Communion / Lord's Supper
The obligation to attend Sunday Mass and take Holy Communion weekly became Church law in the 4th century. This blog seems to say that weekly attendance at Mass (presumably including participating in communion) was a requirement originated by regional councils that became universal practice, but was...
