Re: Credible News Sources

I found this a relevant graphic: http://i.imgur.com/7xHaUXf.jpg Two of the news sites I listen to most are on there, but not the way I would classify them. They are the BBC & Fox. I see them as leaning pretty much equally Left & Right, respectively. If they cover the same story, I figure th...

Re: A discussion on Leadership Structure...

I'm afraid this might come across as a bit cynical, but I have seen all kinds of leadership structures, but sometimes the actual working structure doesn't follow the official one at all, or only on the surface. Like when there's one powerful individual, sometimes on the leadership team, and sometime...

Re: Preterism

After his resurrection, Jesus' body was one of a kind. He is the 'firstfruits' of the resurrection. He was able to be touched, and felt, able to eat food, but also had an open wound in his side that was not a problem. He could appear or leave at will, w/o using the door. He was seen ascending into t...

Re: How to Overcome Addictions?

Neto, I do apologize again and realize that my reply was based on a knee jerk reaction to the improper use (imo) of that passage from I Timothy. It is a common reply from those in "grace alone" groups to excuse the continuing in sin, believing that we are still prone to sin. I believe tha...

Re: How to Overcome Addictions?

How can believers claim to be sinless? Sin is just making mistakes. That was the doctrine of the Holiness Movement of the 19th & early 20th century, but sin is not just "making mistakes". Sin is literally translated as "missing the mark", which is violating the law of God, n...

Re: How to Overcome Addictions?

The reason I said you were confounding scripture is because you were point to Paul's statement of being the chief of sinners to imply that we are all still sinners, which is contrary to scripture. If that was not your intention, it was not clear, and I apologize if I offended you with my assumption...

Re: How to Overcome Addictions?

I only disagree with you because you confound scripture. .... ... it occurred to me that by "sin-less-ness" as opposed to sinlessness you probably meant “to sin less”. .... Another question: I don't follow your train of thought about "why do you think James wrote as much as he did ab...

Re: Where do you fit?

# 2. But I'm a bit like a fish out of water, because there are a lot of ways in which I'm still more Dutch Mennonite than I am Swiss Brethren, like true congregationalism, for example. I have always had a radio, and although we only had a (borrowed) television for a short time in Brazil, as an aid i...

Re: Non-plain Anabaptists / Mennonites

Conservative Anabaptist's to me just hold more closely to the original Anabaptist's than any others and this is a bit of what the name means to me. I'm not sure that's true. I think that a lot of non-plain Anabaptists agree with most of what is on your list, and I don't think that the original Anab...
