You'd really be happier using Linux of some sort, Neto. Most people really aren't troubled by those things. They just want a computer that works when they turn it on, and will do what they want with the least amount of fuss. I think those of us who lived under DOS and were accustomed to batch files ...

I decided that rather than ask this in the other thread, I'd start a new one. I'm wondering if others miss any particular features there were taken out since Windows 7. For example, the gadgets (Was that already gone in 8?). Anyone miss the clock/calendar gadget? (Or is there one in Win 10 somewher...

I use a package called AnyBurn. It can take a disk, a group of files, or a folder and turn it into an image. Or it can go the other way around.

Robert, did you ever look at Solus? That's a new linux distro put together by Ikey Doherty, an open source engineer working for Intel's Open Source Technology Center. If I'm correct he was responsible for starting the original Mint project. Not familiar with that one. I will read up a bit. Thanks f...

Because Windows has loaded the default "Microsoft" mouse drivers and it is up t date. Check the manufacturer and model of the mouse and search for drivers from that manufacturer. You should find what you need. Did your mouse come with a disk? Yup, but the software is for Win XP and is not...

This is an eye-opener. It seems fairly sure that within the next five years our churches and schools will be under interdict because of this issue in Canada. I suspect that the US is right alongside this.
