Re: Today ...
Well, today, Mother's Day, I preached what I expect will have been my last sermon in Minnesota. The title was, quoting from Isaiah 61:1-3 "He has anointed me...& YOU!"

Re: Today ...
Do chickens eat ticks? Good question, do you know the answer? No. I moved from an area of no ticks or rattle snakes to a tick and rattle snake area. I’ve been letting my chickens free range and I’d like to think they are helping with the tick problem. The neighbor said cats are good for snake contr...

Re: Another Head Covering Thread: Fad? Movement?
Every Mennonite church I’ve been around teaches 1 Corinthians 11. People who leave consistently find their “freedom”, not due to a lack of teaching, but by finding false teachings that 1 Corinthians 11 doesn’t actually say what it clearly does. Claiming it was just a cultural expectation is an excu...

Re: Today ...
Building with cement blocks can be quick if you use a surface bonding cement, such as Quik-wall (sp?). You just stack the whole wall dry, using shims where needed to keep it level, then trowel the cement on top. It's supposed to be as strong as a mortared wall, and can be reinforced with rebar and ...

Re: Today ...
Pets must be protected from fleas+ticks, fleas are bad enough, ticks are horrible. Humans must be protected from ticks in TN. I caught one trying to move to MN as we were leaving TN...I also found one who did make it to MN, hitchhiking on my own body... Just thinking of ticks give me “the willies.”...

Re: Today ...
We had both dogs and cats that kept snakes scarce. There are poisonous snakes in TN. Just be careful and you will most likely enjoy your warmer weather, especially after that late season snowstorm you just had. :D We may have a cat, some chickens, maybe some turkeys, but my wife is resisting the id...

Re: Another Head Covering Thread: Fad? Movement?
This may be a good thread to revive the reasons why women cover their hair/head. I am surprised to see many former Mennonites that I once knew leaving this behind as they seek "freedom". I understand the strictures of the Anabaptist fellowships and even their reasonings for doing thing as ...

Re: Today ...
It’s nice you have plenty of flat yard space. You’ll have to watch for snakes. More bugs, too. :P Not near as cold as MN, tho. Snakes are more prevalent for sure and ticks are a way of life... Snakes are as afraid of us as we are of them, ticks not so much... We had both dogs and cats that ...

Re: Campground Ramblings
Our campsite had been near a lake but the monsoons had us moving as the lake overflowed its banks. High and dry is a good thing in camping so we moved to a different campground. Life on the road is never boring. Well, where we are moving to we will definitely be high and dry and we are in flood zon...
