Re: Evidence for Evolution

Physicists based what they say on observations. Evolutionary biologists mostly work off of an assumption of “First, I need to prove those ignorant hillbilly Christians are wrong.” Then they tell me that a soup of chemicals turns into a lizard turns into a bird turns into a monkey turns into a human....

Re: Giuliani's Troubles

Once again, we see attempts to repress political speech and that anyone who dares challenge the “approved” narrative will have their life destroyed. This is very very bad for democracy. I don’t know why the powers that be are choosing to do this. Doing this will gain Trump many more votes. I think ...

Re: Parents outraged

Back on the topic, “Parents outraged.” But why? Did they reject worldly entertainments? Did they reject the television? Did they reject immodest attire, including indecent “bathing suits” that are nothing but a display of pride, vanity, and obscenity? Did they recognise the danger of mixed swimming?...

They could fix all this by the way if they cleaned up the absolute mess of SSDI/SSI. My neighbour collects disability and could work but he doesn’t so that his grandkids can keep...

Re: Parents outraged

Alternatively, this is a bellwether of the decisions that affect our children. If we remain unaware of these dangers parents may inadvertently place their children in harm’s way. There are those on this forum with children the same age and who do care about these decisions to allow such incidents. ...

Re: Baptism in the Catholic Church

Do any rules in the RCC matter? Be they in the catechism or canon law? For all the formality and officialness of things, my experience is local parishes, priests, bishops, and even Popes change or ignore things all the time. In my own world, one Pope says the Pope has no authority to restrict the T...

Re: Social Security ....The monthly Check...yes or no

Jeff, I’ve noticed you’re highly critical of the Amish. Have you paused to consider some of them may indeed be spiritual? Instead, all I have seen you do in this forum is impugne their character, claiming they only do things to get ahead financially. Virtually no Amish I have met are actually this w...

Re: Social Security ....The monthly Check...yes or no

I think a lot of things are being overlooked in these discussions. Are many of actually exempt for SS? I would assume not I once was, am no longer. Each step required approval by the social security office with the appropriate paperwork Amish are NOT exempt for SS if they work for firms such as tho...
