Re: Hindus, Muslims, and Christians

The First Amendment has always been interpreted as the state should not favor a specific religion over others. When a teacher who is acting on behalf of the state (and working in a state facility with an audience provided by the state) decides to promote a particular religion that constitutes a fir...

Re: Hindus, Muslims, and Christians

The First Amendment? They got that wrong? That is what this is actually about. I'm proposing that perhaps if the First Amendment is being interpreted as prohibiting teachers from teaching their students about God, then perhaps either the First Amendment or the interpretation thereof might be wrong....

Re: Hindus, Muslims, and Christians

No one is commanding you not to speak. Certainly not the government. They are simply saying there is a time and place and while you are employed by the state and working with a captive audience on behalf of the state and in a state facility. Then that is neither the time nor the place. Maybe the go...

Re: God made us neither whole nor holy

Perhaps that woman should go to an Amish or Old Order Mennonite church that took a stance against raised pulpits. Then she won’t have any trouble with wheeling around to sing in the front… …except those groups don’t have anybody up front singing. Everyone sings equally from the benches. Some have a...

Re: Public libraries. 21st Century saloons?

Thank you, Ken_sylvania and Josh. The libraries in question are public places, funded by the state. We would expect them to operate under a different set of values than what we as Christians/the church would. Why do we act so shocked and disgusted when the world reveals its values? Jesus did not do...

Re: Never have I ever.... Part 1

Also polaroid cameras. Kids these days love them. They like the fact that the images are often flawed (lens flair, out of focus, under-exposed, etc.) because that makes them more "real" That gives me an idea for a phone app which degrades camera images to make them look like they came fro...

Re: Hindus, Muslims, and Christians

And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. No ...

Re: Hindus, Muslims, and Christians

Is your Bible missing Romans 13? I never saw anything in Romans 13 about not sharing the gospel. What for Bible do you have? My version of Romans 13 reads as follows: Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authoriti...

Re: Hindus, Muslims, and Christians

So in essence, you do it or at least don’t see an issue within a certain range of noncompliance. I am pretty positive you speed yet you agreed by receiving your license to follow the laws. Exactly the same scenario on paper. Again, what is actually enforced will dictate if you keep your job or not....
