Another option is to retreat to the men's nursery and take advantage of the recliners and rockers there.

There are churches with THOSE? That must be nice.

Re: Let's talk BBQ!

Unpopular opinion: I think BBQ, smoked meats, smokers, electronic controlled pellet smokers, smoke flavouring additives, Big Green Eggs, BBQ sauces, dry rubs, seasonings, pulled pork, ribs, and so on and so forth are an overhyped fad and are a bit overdone right now. To top it off, a lot of the BBQ...

Re: I remember when... three years later

Steve, I appreciate a lot about you. One thing I noticed that I liked was how you tried to see things from as many different perspectives as possible. You had opinions, but never forced them on anyone. And you were brave and honest enough to admit when your position changed.

Re: Should I Have Accepted the Money?

Here's a recent dilemma I was faced with: I recently received a $5.77 check that came as a result of a class action lawsuit against a mortgage company that I had a bit of business with about 10-15 years ago. Evidently, the company was ordered by a court to pay a certain amount for some unethical/un...

Re: The Anabaptist Perspective on... Shoes!

I don't positively know what our church says. But my wife has in turn worn white, black, brown, and a pale aqua shoes or boots. No sandals allowed, if I remember correctly and I'm pretty sure bare feet are disallowed. But nude hosiery is perfectly fine, so I'm not sure what the deal is there. Probab...

Re: Northern Mennonite Missions ,,,,Poplar Hill ,Red Lake Ontario

i have a lot of friends ,that served in those cold snowy places , to teach the native children to forget their traditions, even their language , all in the name of the Mennonite Religion.... What churches and church programs did this? You now have NYP which seems wildly successful, so that's good. ...

And still your fearless leader won't open the border. I mean, many get across with no problem. But many are one short question away from being turned back. In December, he tried to doing away with that policy instigated in 2020, but the Supreme Court blocked that effort and kept him from doing away...

Re: I remember when... three years later

Our government told us what was essential to buy. Stores would try to block off "nonessential" items. The problem was, if you have self checkout... Some of the stores had employees who encouraged civil disobedience because they knew managers get sick of it and complain to head office. Head...

Re: I remember when... three years later

And yes, I was similarly accosted for at least two other Covid-regulation violations as well. Stories for the grandchildren, I suppose. Walmart Canada had spies in their stores. Street dress, no ID. My wife annoyed one of them til he threatened to call the police. She invited him to do so at his ea...
