Re: Role of an Elder
In Catholic world, the elder is the priest and the bishop. We have deacons who are married and single men; they don't have all the faculties of the elders but can perform weddings and baptisms. Just in case you were wondering.  How can a deacon be a married and single man at the same ti...

Internet, Faith Healing, and Other Reasons to Split
Steve's query: I thought that split had a lot to do with the internet?? Or am I thinking of another division? from http://forum.mennonet.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=110 It's my understanding that the Old German Baptist Brethren split into two conferences over the internet permission. I'm sure there ...

Re: Credible News Sources
A positive spin on T1's thread. What are your favourite news sources? (Yes I just spelled it that way. Don't care if spell check thinks it's wrong!) Which are most likely to present unbiased news? I think if someone wants to make billions in the USA right now they ought to start a news agency where...

The cooks canned the deer into venison stew as well as vacuum-sealed meat for our freezers. We are blessed! More family time today and most and the travelle...

Re: Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving turns into a family reunion of sorts for us and we do give thanks for each other. We try to avoid the commercialized Thanksgiving that promotes overeating, Black Friday shopping, etc. Those that travel from a distance will bring their culinary skills and buy the necessary ingredients lo...

Re: MentorLink Leaders' Covenant
I want to look at the Ephesians reference but in a broader context than above. Ephesians 4:7-16 (ESV) But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” 9 (In sayin...
