Re: Source bashing soap box
Ultimately we need sources run by people we can trust. I like Mennonite World Review since the editor is accessible, tries to be fair and balanced, and letters to the editor are published. I rarely see articles there with blatant falsehoods. They do their own reporting instead of just just copying a...

Re: Best Image Hosting Site
I like sli.mg and the people running it are dedicated to no ads, no censorship, and not taking up leftist-liberal causes like imgur has.

Re: POLL: Relating to Power: The Christian and Politics
I picked 1. I would have picked 2, but "speaking prophetically" right now means attending BLM rallies, wearing a safety pin, and talking a lot about how bad Trump is. The reason I doubt this is for the Christian is simply because it is identical to what half of the world does with no basis...

Re: Asking for Church Membership??
We need a middle ground between easy-believeism where most baptised converts immediately fall away and a model of church membership that basically requires someone to be perfect before they can easy be baptised.

Re: Jury Duty
Jesus said "Judge not lest ye be judged". Also he said "do not swear". Swearing is against the teachings of Jesus. Affirmations are the same thing. To "Affirm" literally makes "more firm" your "yes' and "no". Jesus said "let your yes be ye...

Re: Flannel shirts
I hope some day we restore the custom of making men's clothes like we do women's. It is an important part of our lives and something worth maintaining control over.

Re: Is it important to emulate the Anabaptists?
I'll leave out infant baptism from my list of concerns but I will add the grave sin of Jewish believers refusing to eat or go to church with Gentile believers. Those were very real issues the apostles - and Jesus' disciples (who sometimes were on the wrong side) - faced. I believe the early Anabapti...

I don't have any doubt as to this veracity of this story.Signtist wrote:What sources were you reading, Josh, that suggest this is not truth?
I am questioning LifeSiteNews' overall quality as a news source.

Re: Meanwhile, in Canada
Pretty much every news outlet covering Ontario covered this. I don't think MN censors much of anything but we do rely on our community to filter out unreliable news sources. If I started posting Daily Kos links, I would expect to get challenged. I am strongly pro life. I think our pro life cause is ...

Re: Is it important to emulate the Anabaptists?
The 1st/2nd century church had a lot of problems, like infant baptism, requiring circumcision of new believers, and a member in good standing at church sleeping with his stepmother. We need to follow Jesus, not necessarily recreate an institution that doesn't exist anymore in a social setting that d...
