Re: Liberal Anabaptist Church Finder Thread?
Is "Liberal Anabaptist" perhaps the definition of Oxymoron? Unless one confines the search to varying degrees of perceived apostasy within the legalistic wing of the church?

Re: S Claiborne to Dr. Jeffress on Trump
Taking offense because a political leader does not conduct himself or herself according to proper Christian standards betrays a lack of understanding of the appropriate application of separation of Church and State, i.e., two Kingdom Theology. The kingdom of Christ and the state is not even apples ...

Re: What Constitutes Moderate Anabaptism?
But mostly the post was facetious. I am as cynical about CMC as any other group, but then I am not a Miller or Showalter nor do I live in Ohio, that Mennonite Mecca. I did marry a Miller, but one that owes more to an Amishman called Oregon Jake than to a Hotel Magnate from Grantsville. (I apologize...

Re: What Constitutes Moderate Anabaptism?
Another way of phrasing the questions would be "Are you licentious (MCUSA) or legalistic (Old Order)?" . Really? "licentious" is the adjective you would use for MCUSA? "Tolerant" or "progressive" perhaps. Maybe "mainstream" or "worldly" Bu...

Re: What Constitutes Moderate Anabaptism?
Another way of phrasing the questions would be "Are you licentious (MCUSA) or legalistic (Old Order)?" Using this terminology (which is superior alliteration and therefore more catchier) one can also avoid a confession of being moderate which carries with it the connotation of residing in ...

Re: Mens/Brothers Meetings?
I do not have a problem with the occasional men's breakfast that may have an inspirational aspect to it. But a "men's meeting" that is essentially doing church business and even making church decisions? I have no use for it whatsoever. In fact feel so strongly about it that it would be a ...

Re: Mens/Brothers Meetings?
So those of you who have church business meetings with men and women present - who takes care of the children? They are well behaved enough they can get along just fine for an hour or so without adult supervision. :angel And when that possibility is suggested, there always seem to be sufficient vol...

Re: the NEW Headcovering Poll
I should confess to a bit of uncertainty regarding this issue, which might be seen as a caveat designed to preemptively counter cries of heretic. Perhaps this wobbliness results partially from the direction of CMC, or maybe more accurately the destination CMC has arrived at regarding the covering. W...

Re: Did the Anabaptist movement start in the 16th century?
Welcome to our fair state. Not to be overly Dramatic, but if you find yourself in Mecca (the CMC version thereof) ere the close of the day, perhaps in a quest to confirm that it is indeed a Wonderful Life, I'll extend that welcome in person. Unfortunately, I was merely there to fetch someone (tis a...
