Re: House Speaker

That being said, as an outside observer ... You very narrowly escaped being represented by Mr. Jordan a few years ago. ;) And you weren’t so fortunate… 8-) Actually I was, and even with a one-county buffer. But the latest regerrymandering has kaptured my county in an urban Democratic district, whic...

I have no idea why this is in bold as well! :)
RZehr's post at the top of page 5 has a bracketed b at the beginning to turn bold on, but no /b at the end to turn it off. That carries through when quoted.

Re: The Apocrypha

The 27 Books of the NT that we have today was initially proposed by Athanasius, in his Easter Letter of AD367, which were to be regarded as Scripture. His list is the earliest list which corresponds with the canon of the New Testament as we now know it. The earliest list that corresponds exactly. O...

Re: The Apocrypha

For those who are curious, there is an article by this writer in Sword and Trumpet on this very topic. It argues for rejection from the position that they were never part of the cannon to begin with. Basically the word of God was committed to the Jewish people in the Old Testament, there almost abs...

That's where the analogy falls apart. The establishment of the Israeli state intensified the hatred, but to a significant extent it was already there.

Re: Land, Owning land, Sharing land, Defending land, Etc.

Were they glad to share it? This is idealizing the "Noble Savage" just a touch. Ask the Susquehannocks how glad they felt to share the land with the 5 nations of the Iroquois. They were not glad to share it with people who took advantage of them. They were not non-resistant. They were not...

Re: The Twelve Tribes in Prophecy

But it won't happen until Christians boldly teach that the 12 tribes are the recipients of the New Covenant. Amen! Those of the 10 tribes who follow Jesus are recipients of the New Covenant. Those of the 2 tribes who follow Jesus are recipients of the New Covenant. Those of all tribes on earth who ...

Re: Land, Owning land, Sharing land, Defending land, Etc.

I recently listened to the Anabaptist Perspectives podcast where historian John Ruth reported on his study into the early Anabaptist use of Psalm 24:1, "The Earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell in it." John D. Roth, not John L. Ruth (author of the bo...

Beets me. I imagine Finny could answer this, though; he's been to Harvard.
