Re: "gay Christian"
Question: If I took "gay" out of the phrase "gay Christian", does it get easier? How many people object to "a Christian who is gay" as a description of someone who struggles with same-sex attraction, but chooses to be celibate? I would be happy to accept "a Christ...

Re: How to Overcome Addictions?
I just read this discussion through now. When I read this part of the conversation, I immediately thought of I Timothy 1:15, where Paul says that "The Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst," the prime example. He doesn't say "of whom I WAS the worst"...

Re: Dr Ben Carson - Post 2016 Election
The bananas are more to the point than the chocolate content, if any. The waffle part is obvious. I used to have a high opinion of Dr. Carson. Perhaps that can be restored someday. But I think he has made a lot of questionable decisions in the last few months, and this seems like a continuation of ...

Re: What the Mennonites got right
Or we got right making sure no single mothers ever try to convert / join our churches. We have a single mother join here and a divorced mother regularly attending. Not sure what you mean. My comment is contrasting the two working parent homes and sending the kids to daycare. Not a knock at the sing...

Re: What the Mennonites got right
Stay at home mothers. I'm sitting in the dentist waiting room receiving compliments on the behavior of my 4 kids. I think having a stay at home mother is a huge reason for their decent behavior. Or we got right making sure no single mothers ever try to convert / join our churches. We have a single ...
