Re: Protesting

Very true and I agree. But I think there is a time and place. One atheist I've known for five years wouldn't ever talk to me about God. But as I showed interest in him and that I cared about him he started confiding things he doesn't tell other people, like his suicidal thoughts and attempts, his d...

Re: Kingdom Christian and Charity Movements

In that case, the next questions to put forth to FOTW are: #1. What is another denomination (like BMA, CMC, KMF, etc.), or a list of churches, where you would be comfortable letting any of their preachers come and preach at your church on a special evening type of service? #2. What would be the sam...

Re: Poll: Concealed Weapons among Plain Anabaptists?

4. Are there people who would use a handgun only for firing a warning shot but would not actually use it on a person? When the 5 missionaries were killed in Ecuador, they fired warning shots into the air yet did not in any way harm anyone that I'm aware of. Obviously this is so different than most o...

Re: Poll: Concealed Weapons among Plain Anabaptists?

Twinpines, I think you do not know York or the church there. As of December 2019, York had 46% higher crime than the national average. The church there is in a section of the city that is considered most violent. I was going to link sources but couldn't figure out how. Not that it makes alot of dif...

Re: Claim: “Millions of Mennonites and Amish are voting for President Trump”

I expect most voting Mennonites, vote Democrat. Wonder why Amish are so pro Trump & Mennonites left then? Do they support Pelosi too? I know Amish wish to see her leave- Because a President who supports family values, the one against abortions and sexual education, and less Government control i...

Re: Culture, has it become a burden and stumbling block.

I am mostly just wondering if we as a people would be willing to forgo our feelings of security, and give up any ideas of "our church," might we be better off, and in regards to the op, more inviting to outsiders? The interesting thing is that "outsiders", seekers, or folks from...

Re: Culture, has it become a burden and stumbling block.

Josh, there is a huge difference between going liberal and putting cultural stumbling blocks in the path of sincere seekers and young disciples. I agree with your advice to look what has happened to other churches. If you're in a church or a mission board that has these standards, you have three ch...

Re: Culture, has it become a burden and stumbling block.

So how does a leader, especially a young leader who may immediately be labeled rebellious, young and restless, results-driven, begin to speak to the establishment, the hierarchy, about this? Not to destroy, but to build up the church from the inside, but often mistaken for "going liberal"...
