Re: CloudVeil Messenger App

The downside is Telegram’s notifications are not as reliable as WhatsApp. I don’t have WhatsApp. Can you explain the notifications? With Cloudveil, can you turn the notifications off? I do have GroupMe, and am part of my family group, in law family group and church group, and I keep the notificatio...

Re: Apostasy of the 1960s-Chester Weaver-Anabaptist Perspectives

I recognized the chart he used! I think learning Mennonite history is valuable although using the term "apostasy" is a bit inflammatory (implying that the liberal Mennonites renounced Christ which I believe they did not.) I realize he has his own perspective, he lived through this and I di...

Re: Addressing militancy, anger, & radicalization in our midst

Dr. Fauci has said that American may need to be required to carry around Covid19 immunity papers. We are ok with that? Fortunately, Dr Fauci isn’t a lawyer, judge, the President, or in charge of civil liberties. If there is a covid19 vaccine and a widespread anti vaccine movement then measures will...

Re: How to love your neighbour

I appreciate this post. Unconditional love =/= unconditional trust is so important. There are many people in my life whom I love deeply but I should not let that love blind me to the damage they can potentially cause. Love doesn't have to go against reason.

Re: Addressing militancy, anger, & radicalization in our midst

I have seen a lot more conspiracies floating around. Stuff like Mennonites advising one another to never take a Covid vaccine when it comes out because it's apparently the government planting chips in people...Fear drives us to lose our reasoning and I worry about people in my community.

Re: Apostolic Christian Church

Maybe I should start my own thread, but I was curious. I was looking up churches in Sarasota, FL (just giving the city for context,) and all the churches seemed to have fairly good relationships with one another (hosting choral concerts in one another's venues, etc.) and this was true for the Evange...

Re: Coronavirus, Sasha found, still CAM... and a poll

Its funny, I think back to pre-smartphone days, like flip phones and even the early Blackberry sliders. I had the attitude that if you wanted to talk to me, call me don't text. Now, if the phone rings and I don't recognize the number, I hit ignore. Many times if it is someone I know, but its not an...

Re: Coronavirus, Sasha found, still CAM... and a poll

YouTube is wonderful for finding sermons. Many churches whose sermons I listen to do not post their sermons elsewhere (if they are on their website they are just embedded YouTube videos.) As much as I would love to have a regular text/call-only cell phone, my job requires me to use email multiple ti...

I may not agree with him but I imagine Trump will win again. Biden and Sanders will split the Democratic Party.

Re: Popular Mennonite author turns out to be a predatory homosexual... What about his books?

If this is known fact, I don't think naming names is out of place. Warning against false teachers is important. One I've struggled with musician Ray Boltz. I used to like some of his stuff... Yet so many professed "orthodox" Christians take no issue listening to music produced by churches...
