Re: Christianity and traditional medicine

We are not understanding each other. We are not calling Aloe Vera evil - I have used Aloe Vera and we do have an aloe vera plant. If you read Roger's material carefully, he does not condemn all things that are considered natural nor does he give unqualified support to the drug companies. We use bur...

Re: Christianity and traditional medicine

Roger Hertzler posted a very interesting article in "Plain News" with the title "Choose this Day Whom You Will Serve." In Paragraph 7 he says The New Age movement, which is steeped in ..... ...... and anti-God philosophy, has worked its way into the lives of many professing Chri...

Re: Today ...

Look out Josh, I had a man at our church today try to tell me that the Independent Baptist churches are the one true church. In seriousness though despite his constant struggle with nervousness this was the handicapped man in our church wanting to talk and rather by the end of our conversation...

Re: Anabaptist approach to Global Warming/Climate Change

Working as an unskilled labourer meant over half of my income went just to interest on debt repayments. With my current career, I do spend quite a bit more than I did as a concrete worker. But I also make so much more I can actually pay debt off. By the grace of God nearly all of it is paid off thi...

Natural medicine: We have Aloe Vera plants in our home that we use on cuts and burns. Alternative medicine: Alternat...

Re: Christianity and traditional medicine

Just revisited this thread as I missed the last half. It made me wonder if most of the disagreeing that has come about on health topics is more related to what we define as "natural," "alternative," "traditional medicine," or etc.? As the last couple posts from Hatsoff ...

Re: Anabaptist approach to Global Warming/Climate Change

I know a Mennonite family with ten children. The father told me that a couple years ago was the first time he had ever earned a wage more than above poverty line here in Canada. He made their house, furniture, farmstand, greenhouses, and etc. They make their own clothes and grow all their own food....

Re: Global Warning/Climate Change

I really do believe that anyone who is serious about climate change and could share in my experience with Mennonites that for the most part would be impressed. You see I believe someone who is serious about climate change is going to take it seriously in their own life. And the Mennonites I have met...
