Re: I think it is funny
The second best alarm clock in the world is the noise a cat makes while throwing up.
The best alarm clock in the world is my wife saying, "What was that noise?"

Re: Shared community of Brethren, Mennonites or Amish?
Not sure if and Acts 2/4 community is what's in question. In Acts, property was shared but there's no indication of income sharing. There's a big difference between the two, and there are many communities that have one or the other (some share income but all have private property, some share capita...

Re: The Danger of Reactionary Theology
I think this is an excellent reminder/warning. We can see in history the results of overreaction and overemphasis in other theological movements as well. ...Can we take care not to have a reactionary theology? MattY, I agree: it is indeed an excellent reminder and warning as well as an excellent to...

Re: Governance Differences between Mennonite Brethren and Swiss Brethren?
Thank you, Neto and MattY. These answers enlighten much in my understanding. Max, I missed this question until right now, when I accidentally clicked on "Unanswered Topics" instead of "Active Topics". I am not aware of any comparative works or studies. I wrote the above based str...

Shared community of Brethren, Mennonites or Amish?

Re: Business opportunities serving low-tech Anabaptist groups
Providing world news, news about Plain People, and hospitality options, etc. (via email, fax, or snail mail) I think that is called the Budget. He didn't include touting miracle-like natural cures, can't be the Budget. I confess that I do enjoy reading The Budget, particularly the stories fro...

Re: The Cary Grant syndrome
In my experiences, I think this syndrome can be found in quite a few of life's choices: whether it is getting married; choosing a church; choosing a town or state in which to live; choosing a vehicle; choosing a college; choosing a job; etc.
I call it the "honeymoon vs reality" syndrome.

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
Thank you all. I have appointment with a neurologist next month. I’ve been still pretty much flat, but today I did appreciate some improvement. Me being down is the reason I have been more active than normal on this forum. Probably will continue for a while. We enjoy your posts, RZehr. It provides ...
