Re: 100 Members

Only a few hundred were active...if I recall, less than 1/3 ever posted more than one time. We're at 109 now by the way! i find it odd that MN is growing at such a fast pace right now, MD was not growing like that .. ever? not recently. not sure how so many are showing as registered, but have no &q...

Re: "If you don't vote, you have no right to complain!"

Robert: Not sure everyone should vote. Some states, early on, only allowed property owners to vote. The idea was you had to have a stake in the game to vote. Too easy to vote for free money when you do not have to pay it in. There are a lot of [uninformed] voters out there and some who want to vote...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?

Nothing defensive, as I've nothing to defend. I'm not a voter nor an evangelical. :?: But the quote above makes it seem like if Evangelicals would all vote, they could alter the elections. Perhaps they could impact it, but the quote throws the electoral college out the window well, yeah. i really l...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?

So if there are about 100 million evangelical Protestants in the US (which there are), and 25 million aren't voting, then 75 million of them are. 75% of Evangelicals are, therefore, voters. This is a MUCH higher percentage than the general US population. There's no telling if Mr. Carson is counting...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?

more about not voting, from Dr Ben Carson, this was in my email a few days ago. Dr Carson is chairman of My Faith Votes, which i have been loosely following, but have not participated in any of their pledges, petitions, etc. (i.e., read-only) Every election in the last 25 years has been decided by l...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?

In this morning's email. is this correct? it's not the perception presented in the noisy news! but, it is something i've consistently read about (all my life.) most people don't vote. Low voter turnout has been a topic of conversation for the last several election cycles. Since the 1960s, voter turn...

Re: Additions

Justme suggested that the Welcome thread should be viewable to all. Since we moderate the first post so we can filter out the trash and spam, what is left is acceptable, so there is no reason not to make it viewable. I should have it set so it can be seen (Read Only Access) since many are posting n...

Re: "If you don't vote, you have no right to complain!"

I'm not a political person. But next week's election does have me paying attention. So for those who choose not to vote, how do you reply to the above statement? Keep it civil! the subject line saying has been around a long time. thankfully, it's a saying, something to think about, but, not yet a l...

Re: Presidential elections, for whom are you?

What is a Christians purpose in voting? For a more comfortable Christianity? Vote to plead for a kinder more compassionate government. Government does have a place. Paul clearly states that. So if there is going to be a earthy body, would it not be best to encourage it to be as Christlike as possib...

Post loves have been added. http://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/3494/89w6wY.png This enhancement caused General Error to lock me out for a few days. It appears to be fixed now, but just to be safe I'll stay away from the hearts and use this instead: http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/a499/ohiojo...
