Re: Tough Question # 3

The argument usually is that finite sins against an infinite God can never be repaid...therefore an infinite deity had to "pay the penalty." If we reject that infinite ransom, we then suffer the infinite punishment. As we can never repay sins against an infinite God with a finite amount of...

Re: Public schooling versus CM schools

I've spent most of my teaching time in public schools but have been around various charter and private schools as well. From a purely educational perspective, I would say the greatest advantage of small private schools is class size. There are a lot more things you can do with classes of 10 or 15 s...

Re: Public schooling versus CM schools

I've been a teacher in conservative Mennonite schools for nearly 20 years. (I also attended public schools from grades 1 through 6.) I've mostly taught students in grades 7–12, in four different communities. I'm afraid that in some ways there are fewer differences between our schools and public sch...

Re: Poll: Jewelry, Rings, and Bands

I have not problem with jewelry if it is not so 'out there' that it's the first things folks see. I have worn a simple necklace in the past and wore a watch for years - being a nurse I needed one. These days I only wear a simple wedding ring- never had an engagement ring - my choice. Husband has a ...

Re: Why shouldn't Christians vote in elections.... ?

If I believed in the political systems of the worldly kingdoms with regard to their ability to bring salvation on earth as also in heaven, I would vote. But I don't, so I don't. Yet the "worldly" system we are living under in this country, gives us the freedom to have the ability to bring...

Re: Is Trump legally qualified to be a presidential candidate?

The Colorado trial determined he was part of an insurrection, so this is a legally determined fact. There is nothing in the law or Constitution that calls for a conviction. This part of the 14th Amendment was used to keep those who had been US officers and then part of the Confederate rebellion fro...

Re: Martin Luther King - MKL

I cannot now recall how I ended up seeing this article, because I do not normally ever look at the periodical Christianity Today, but this showed up this afternoon, SOMEWHERE where I saw it. I gather that MLK would have been 95 years old on last Friday. The article title: The Half-Truths We’ve Told...

Re: Church influence of family size?

None really. We went with the flow as it were, my wife and I thinking we would take at least 6...but we neve3 got there. God gave us three. Most people assume we probably family planned, but no not really.

They just came slower than we thought.
