Re: From Cult to Established Church

To all: Note that I'm also differentiating a cult from an "established church or fellowship." As in "When does a 'cult' become an established church or fellowship." So in this definition, the difference is whether it is established or not? If so, what do you mean by established ...

Re: From Cult to Established Church

I don't define cult as being synonymous with "different" Did you read Max's whole post? He was setting the parameters of the definition for this thread alone, not for general purposes. The term "cult" has many different meanings, and not all of them are the negative connotation ...

Re: Positive Predestination and Logic

During my recent trip to the village, some Lutheran missionaries who live down the road from us invited us over for dinner. There were four of us from the construction crew that was building our house, and we were each sharing about our denominational backgrounds. I mentioned that I was Assemblies ...

Re: Additions

I understand. But if you love fonts as much as it sounds like, you'll at least appreciate what they are doing. I have actually used that site to figure out what kind of font I need for a particular application. I wanted to make a scale decal of a Packard for a model that I have been b...

Re: POLL: Relating to Power: The Christian and Politics

My privilege is not what allows me to live a non-political existence. It is a matter of faith. Everyone could live a non-political existence. While your faith is your motivating factor, it is none the less true that it is your privilege that allows you to exercise your faith in this country, so it ...

Re: POLL: Relating to Power: The Christian and Politics

One thing that distorts this whole discussion is that we are doing it in an online forum. Suppose Mike, Appleman, Dan, and I were out in the park with the two refugee families I'm working with. My guess is that there wouldn't be a political debate. My guess is that there would be potato salad. I li...
