Re: Alistair Begg - walking that fine line ...
I wrestled with answering the poll questions because to me they were too simplistic to define accurately. Pastor Begg has dealt with widespread attack for his counsel to that particular grandmother in that particular situation. His counsel shocked those who know him well. His closest friends, in fac...

Re: Alistair Begg - walking that fine line ...
I think there is much truth regarding Phariseeism in the church today especially in groups that have written expectations additional to the scripture itself. And the seeming lack of compassion towards the lost that shows up and results in churches with no real growth. I'm so glad that you are not a...

Re: "Good Friday" and Matthew 12:40
Well, once you disagree with Aquinas about several other things, what's one more? :) But you're right, minority views do have a higher burden of proof. The fringier the view, the more scrutiny it deserves. At least for me, this issue isn't a major one, and it's more a matter of probability than cer...

Re: Will the issues you care about be priorities for a Trump-family run RNC?
We watched a really good interview with Donald Trump the other day. It was an hour long- the food thing about an interview vs a rally or speech is the interviewer can ask tough questions. They cannot (as often happens) take a line out of context and twist it. I was really impressed with his answers....
Re: Agreement
I think Max seems to recognize the way Sudsy speaks to him it seems there's a difference, at least I can see it. If people want to join in, having an intention to expound in a peaceable way is a blessing to witness. is there a possbility oj and ken_s and others might have something of value to cons...
Re: Agreement
Jesus didn't go anywhere private to call out the Pharisees for their error. And I would highly advise you to stop calling people "angry" just because they call you out for inconsistencies or because they point out the wrongdoing of the RCC. Ken S, Jesus' dealings with the religious leader...

Re: Church good at evangelization
Reading through the thread, I noticed the discussion about evangelisation on the job but there is a concern whether the employer feels it is inappropriate on “company time”. I wonder: when a Christian sets the example of a diligent work ethic as well as caring for his fellow workers, that can be co...
Re: Agreement
.. This forum is not a fine example of spiritually mature believers .. strongly disagree. these outnumber others, but aren’t the noisiest. it’s what you look for. being it’s so bad here, why not shake the dust, as is often suggested? if not, it might be well to question what is so magnetic/irresist...

Re: Church good at evangelization
I think it is possible to ask questions of customers, fellow employees, and supervisors when the timing is right without it being a problem. A friend of mine took homemade cookies in his lunch, and read the Bible silently in the lunch room. His fellow employees wanted some of his homemade cookies. ...

Interesting how you listed 3 gigantic corporations for your example. Why do you find that interesting? Well over half of all jobs in the US are for corporate or public sector employers. Wal-Mart alone employs more than 1.5 million people. You may not like that but it is the reality. And the percent...
