Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

Consider two hypothetical men. One man is a member of a nonresistant church, nods firmly when his pastors speak of it, would never defend himself with a gun, and teaches his children the same. But he resents his neighbor for an old dispute about the boundary line on their property; he gets angry at...

[quote= I also agree with this point — https://thefederalist.com/2024/04/30/in-defense-of-dog-killer-kristi-noem/ A fascinating aspect of this “scandal” is to see how people apply a subconscious animal hierarchy to Noem’s story and against which they judge her actions. Re: Paul Graham - How to Disagree

Just so I understand…we should go straight to the bottom of the pyramid because it is the broadest and most foundational part? It is the bottom line, right?

Re: Political office

But we should. The right thing to do would be to not deliver pornography to people's mailboxes. I am very disturbed by this point of view that it's OK to do immoral things as long as an employer is telling you to do it. So I assume you could not work as a postal carrier. And presumably not as a UPS...

El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele

https://youtu.be/pa8PGsiYjUE?si=qrzZkqXtAOHWk4BQ El Salvador and Argentina deteriorated so incredibly out of control on violence and inflation. When the pain of continuing doing the same thing finally grow larger than the pain of change, the people elected and supported real leaders who were ...

Re: Archaeologists need to quit being so quick to…

Amateur archaeologists in England have unearthed one of the largest Roman dodecahedrons ever found, but mystery surrounds what it was actually used for. … Parker’s group does have one working theory, however. “Most likely they were some form of religious or ritual object,” he said. “The Romans were...

The two greatest commandments, love God, love neighbor. I don’t see how killing my neighbor is completely compatible with loving my neighbor. Seems like this would rank pretty high in “main things”.

Re: Photography Sinful ?

We just interpret the text simply when it says “make no graven images”. Exceptions abound for “business use”, which I personally find questionable. I am more concerned about the graven images of Washington, Jackson, Franklin, et al , which many people worship for both business and personal use. It'...
