Re: Should negligent parents be punished by the law?
It seems it is the fornicating that you don't like, not the single parenting. I don't like either. I think fornication is wrong, and that it causes bad consequences, especially for children. I think being a birth parent out of wedlock is also bad, and is proven to cause bad outcomes. A foster carer...

But for the sake of your argument, I would be 100% in favor of red light and speeding cameras spread around the city. And start ticketing everyone who is breaking the law. Most red light cameras are installed by a private company that then runs the entire operation including collecting the money, a...

Re: Should negligent parents be punished by the law?
You know, I'm just going to repeat this for emphasis, Ken. It is completely disgusting to compare a selfless foster carer with a fornicator who gets pregnant out of wedlock. One person is trying to help make the world a better place, including for abused and neglected children. The other gives no th...

Re: Should negligent parents be punished by the law?
She is a willful single mother. She is a single mother who is willfully seeking MORE children. If single parenting represents negligence as you claim, then she should be punished same as any single mother who accidentally gets pregnant, willfully gets pregnant, or happens to get pregnant against he...

Re: Poll: Daniel Perry - Should he have been pardoned?
rscores the hypocrisy of a lot of these survivalist types. You find them all over the rural west. There were loads of them back in Texas. Living on SSDI based on claims of varying degrees of legitimacy. You certainly have your share in rural southern Ohio as well as the rest of Appalachia. I doubt ...

When I was a youthful young man, getting tickets didn't do much to change my driving. (Back then they were just a $100 or so fine, no big deal, and maybe your insurance would go up a little bit.) What did change my habits was having a few near misses where I almost got in a very serious accident. Ev...

Re: Thinking about shaving my head... sort of...
For whatever reason, more conservative groups (intermediate-conservative and beyond) seem to prefer that men not have shaved heads. In moderate-conservative and up groups, this seems to be more acceptable.

Re: Should negligent parents be punished by the law?
Explain how any of those would apply to a single mother with a child out of wedlock? What illegal act are you putting them on trial for and punishing? In my original post, I was referring to the act of fornication, as evidenced by a child out of wedlock. Are you offering free public childcare and d...

Re: War in Gaza
regarding the kitchen workers, Israel responded quickly this was a grave mistake, and they made changes within to prevent it in future. It's not a "mistake" when a large, powerful military does something like this. Israel's stance has been not to care about civilian casualties in Gaza. Th...
