Re: Is Trump legally qualified to be a presidential candidate?

Ken,

None of those were crimes. They were civil actions, most of them private.

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills

Adam's first command was to tend the garden and to keep it, and then to "rule over" the animals. I don't see where this command was ever negated. More importantly, it is hard to imagine that God wants Christians to live a life where they don't care about all what he created, and instead ar...

Re: Paul Graham - How to Disagree

Actually, I think MennoNet is a good place to do that if your enemies and friends line up with the majority here. On MennoNet, I think there are some people who are suspicious of anyone who seriously departs from the Fox News perspective, whether or not that's where they get it from. Let's be clear...

Re: Cameras

Ask around on those buy/sell/trade WhatsApp or Telegram groups; I'm sure someone has some cameras for sale not too far from you. It's a good idea to check it out locally first.

Re: Is Trump legally qualified to be a presidential candidate?

So I suppose this topic is over then. There are two separate questions here. The first question is whether or not Trump is legally qualified to be a presidential candidate. The Supreme Court did not rule on that question. They simply ruled that State courts are the wrong forum to make that determin...

Re: Is Trump legally qualified to be a presidential candidate?

So like the movie Minority Report. Use a time machine to see into the future and then throw him in jail and prosecute him for crimes that he has not yet committed? … the “business records” case is about activity long before 2016. Which is why it’s rather concerning. Trump was a public figure and if...

Re: Paul Graham - How to Disagree

MennoNet indeed does look that way if one simply ignores the Politics group, which is, well, where political discussion happens. A forum full of conservative Anabaptists is not a good place to go to find (a) denouncements of your political enemies, and (b) endorsements of your political allies. It d...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

As far as I know, one of the things they are trying to do in Kensington is provide services for people who aren't drug addicts or criminals, but are just poor people who are stuck living there, who face a rather hard life. I think that's a good approach to take. Most of these people can't speak Engl...

Re: Is Trump legally qualified to be a presidential candidate?

As Trump was engaged in insurrection, it behooves Congress to act. I think they should have made that finding after the January 6 impeachment, when a majority of both Houses essentially agreed with that finding. The legal standard is ⅔ of the Senate, which wasn't reached. Congress did act, but Trum...

OK. So I can't kill my neighbour, but it's OK to kill someone who isn't my neighbour?
