Re: War in Gaza

If someone reviewed my opinions from a few years ago or longer ago, I used to be more sceptical of supra-national bodies like the UN or the ICC. Nowadays I would view them as having a certain level of legitimacy when it comes to regulating or at least documenting the conduct of leaders of nations; ...

Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?

Could you (or someone else) elaborate on what is meant by "Kingdom Theology"? It seems surprising to me that 95% of an anabaptist organization can be influenced by what I would think of as "Kingdom Theology", seeing as how central it is to the gospel. Are they fully giving thems...

Re: Progressive/Conservative threshold?

I believe Dean Taylor is in an ADC institution nowadays and involved with setting up their missions programs; perhaps he'll influence them in the 'kingdom' direction.

Re: War in Gaza

What did you actually mean by equating the ICC to a local magistrate adjudicating speeding tickets? I consider both to be lawful courts whose judgments I generally respect. Some people don't respect them. For example, Russia doesn't respect what the ICC says. Likewise, I've run into someone who cla...

Re: HPV and Cancer link

I will dismiss the "barefoot " part, if there is broken glass around it would drive a decision. My children were never around firearms, only a very small minority of people in our fair city have them, and they are concentrated in certain areas. How little you actually know about this plac...

I’ve always found this dishonesty a bit disturbing.

Re: HPV and Cancer link

HPV that causes cervical cancer is certainly an STD. Hep. B is primarily an STD but at least there are some other explanations of how it could be transmitted. The overall thing here is that this is once again “harm reduction”, no different than needle exchange programs for drug users. It’s an attemp...
