Re: The Israeli state?

Interesting group. Really hard to get up there, at least when I was there. Even harder to find out exactly what they have in their "temple." My friends at Jerusalem University College think they have a priceless trove of manuscripts, that outsiders can't get access to. Yes. They end up wo...

Re: The Israeli state?

And is full of a combination of essentially atheistic seculars and believers in a made up religion that was posited as a replacement for the true religion that God prescribed, commonly called Rabbinic Judaism. One of the more interesting groups are the Samaritans - all 900 of them. About half are i...

Re: The Israeli state?

Just so I understand you clearly. You believe ALL the unbelieving Jews were slain at that moment leaving ONLY believing Jews...including Josephus? I don't have any idea of ALL of them were slain. I am simply saying that those who decided to stay and "defend" the temple, and attempt to fig...

Re: Proselytization

The Pharisees were supposed to be keeping the law. The reason Jesus criticised them is because they weren't obeying/keeping the law, not because Jesus was against the law.

"Think not that I came to abolish the law."

Re: Proselytization

The question could be asked this way: How does carrying out Jesus' "great commission" look different from religious folk straining to bring as many converts into their system as possible? Motivation and intent of the heart; is it a selfless motivation to bring others to the knowledge of J...

Re: The Israeli state?

So, if I'm hearing how you and Josh interpret this. You believe that God is working through Rome to destroy the city of Jerusalem in AD70 for the purpose of crushing the unbelieving Jews. Are we to believe all the believing Jews were saved in this massacre and the unbelieving slain, thus leaving th...

Re: “Five-fold ministry”?

You may not understand it. Catholics and other sacramental churches understand the distinction between liturgy and private prayer. Charismatic Christianity is a distinctly Protestant concept, so I'm asking you to explain how exactly it happens in supposedly Catholic circles. You mentioned there are...

Re: “Five-fold ministry”?

Could you explain to us which liturgy, particular church, and/or ethnic group is the “charismatic” one? The CCM is a personal expression of prayer-life and devotion. Those who practice it do not have a formal liturgy. Those who prefer this type of prayer life can be found in all 7 Rites of the Cath...

Re: The Israeli state?

My perspective is that many Israelites accepted Christ and indeed created what is now the church. They were the first Christians. The unbelievers perished in 70 AD when the temple was destroyed, never to be rebuilt again. The continuation of “Israel” in the church and Christians, going all the way b...
