Re: “Five-fold ministry”?

Could you explain to us which liturgy, particular church, and/or ethnic group is the “charismatic” one? The CCM is a personal expression of prayer-life and devotion. Those who practice it do not have a formal liturgy. Those who prefer this type of prayer life can be found in all 7 Rites of the Cath...

The unbelievers perished in 70 AD when the temple was destroyed, never to be rebuilt again. The continuation of “Israel” in the church and Christians, going all the way b...

Re: “Five-fold ministry”?

Heard someone make a comment stating that a church in their town doesn’t teach five-fold ministry. Looked it up and it references the five ministries addressed in Ephesians. Is this teaching associated with a particular denomination? Is it found across denominations? I suppose the next time you see...

Re: The Israeli state?

What is the difference between “Israel” and the church? Specifically, it is very clear that salvation is offered to individuals, and not a national basis. And more importantly, individuals who don’t accept Christ or who reject him won’t be saved. In this understanding it’s hard for me to see what ex...

Re: Is Biden Fit to be President?

Either lying is a measure of fitness for president or it isn't. Which is it? This thread isn’t “Is Trump fit to be President?”, although I think it would be fine if you started such a thread. Everything is relative. If we are going to propose some measure of "fitness" for a particular can...

Re: Autocrat vs Institutionalist

Can we have a fourth option for “I disagree with your assumptions that one candidate is institutionalist and one is authoritarian”?

Re: Paul Graham - How to Disagree

Paul Graham: The most extreme of the things you can't say would be very shocking to most readers. If you doubt that, imagine what people in 1830 would think of our default educated east coast beliefs about, say, premarital sex, homosexuality, or the literal truth of the Bible. We would seem depraved...
