Re: Should negligent parents be punished by the law?
A recent topic on MN was whether or not negligent parents should be punished. One of the worst acts of negligence any parent can do is decide to have a child out of wedlock; it has been proven over and over how much worse the outcomes are. Choosing to be a single mother is a very poor choice. If ne...

One of the worst acts of negligence any parent can do is decide to have a child out of wedlock; it has been proven over and over how much worse the outcomes are. Choosing to be a single mother is a very poor choice. If that's one of the worst, surely divorce is another one. It may even be worse, es...

Re: Church Government Models
The RCC is an episcopal model and explicitly is not a democracy. Regular members have no actual rights to determine much of anything about the church.
Other episcopal models are similar such as United Methodists.

Re: Bunny Trails: Politics
I think that dropping atomic bombs and burning hundreds of thousands of innocent people to death is wrong. Then why not get involved in politics in order to right that wrong? It’s also wrong to kill unborn babies. That doesn’t mean I need to try to use force and killing myself in an “ends justify t...

Back before we had phones to type notes into when driving, you need other writing utensils to quickly scratch down,
I dunno, the phone number of a lawyer you saw on a billboard. Such an item built in as the OP would seem useful if you were writing an opus on the road.

Re: Is it wrong to use nuclear bombs against civilians?
How do citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven go about getting the kingdoms of the world to stop developing and using nuclear and other bombs against other kingdoms of the world? We can't, but we can speak out about the evil. We can also decline to pay taxes for it. Well, we can’t really decline, other ...

Re: Is it wrong to use nuclear bombs against civilians?
Part of my purpose was to stimulate discussion about just how immoral, unethical, and against the teachings of Jesus of is to kill hundreds of thousands of noncombatants, people not involved in a war at all, simply to somehow try to win some war. Of course, if we want to abide by OT law - the Israel...

Re: Another Barge/Bridge Collision
Is it not true? Which part? I remember driving the old 7 mile bridge to Key West in 1970-71. It was very narrow and when a large truck was oncoming, it was also a white knuckler. We did not need carnival rides in that era. We had narrow bridges. The ship that hit the Key Bridge in Baltimore wasn't ...
