Re: MennoNet and Genealogy

Russian Mennonites (or people married to one) tend to like to store their info in "Grandma Online". This is a site that is specifically about people from Dutch Mennonite heritage. So also the Mennonite History and Genealogy FaceBook group, of which I am a member. I'm sure I have a number ...

Re: Modern day Anabaptist perception towards postcards, handwritten letters, snail mail, etc?

"Stamp it up" was some MLM that used to be popular but doesn't seem to be catching on with the younger generation. When people want fancy wedding invitations now they pay to get it done online, it seems. I see more and more young Amish women creating all of their own invitations, name car...

Re: Thinking about shaving my head... sort of...

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't. You might even look like a cop, as many of them shave their heads. Or military.... I used to be really opposed to guys shaving their heads (for women, still am) because of the association with the whole white supremacy - skin-head deal (goatees for the...

Re: Justice

I would suggest that, along the same lines as Josh's reasoning, the relative danger of violent death for any certain individual is acutely influenced by what places they commonly find themselves, and also, I would add, if they are alone, or in a group. Many of the life-threatening dangers we faced a...

Re: Justice

To truly understand justice, though, we can simply read the Bible. God even gave us a perfect law code so that we can understand what is just. We have ample instruction for how to treat each other equitably. But what is the Biblical advice for when that code of ethics is broken? This is a situation...
