Re: recommendations for cars/suv
Get the nicest Toyota you can find in your budget and preferred size/body style. While Toyotas aren't the only good cars, this is a nice way to keep it simple. You'll often pay more for a Toyota than for comparable vehicles from other makes, but you get what you pay for. This guy offers a lot of sou...

Re: Public schooling versus CM schools
I've been a teacher in conservative Mennonite schools for nearly 20 years. (I also attended public schools from grades 1 through 6.) I've mostly taught students in grades 7–12, in four different communities. I'm afraid that in some ways there are fewer differences between our schools and public scho...

Re: Cuisines from around the world!
A relative of mine who's lived in several countries and travelled widely says that Lebanon had the best food, hands down. I had an extremely good meal at a Lebanese restaurant once.
I voted for French, Spanish, and Turkish food.

The wife, being half Filipino says the only food there worth eating is chicken adobo….everything else is pretty awful. Not a fan of Jollibee? I don't live near any locations, and don't recall seeing any in my modest travels, but I've heard enough good things about Jollibee that I'd like to try it s...

Re: Dispensationalism, John Darby, etc.
A couple of years ago I remarked to an older friend (a man in his early 70s who is definitely a premillennialist but maybe not a dispensationalist, I'm not sure) that I don't hear nearly as much about prophecy being fulfilled in current events as I did growing up 20–30 years ago. He said that enthus...

Re: Russia Invades Ukraine 2022
But besides echoing the Chomsky notion above, he says all the big Western media is blatantly lying to us about the state of the war; in other words, Ukraine is losing very badly, Russia is doing WAY better than reported and its a all a gigantic conspiratorial ruse to keep the US military industrial...

Re: Can we make MN more hostile?
Yes we can. We should start by denouncing heretics and heresies clearly and firmly. We should also denounce the vast right wing conspiracy and the godless left. We should make clear explicit connections to Hitler, Trump, and the Bidens. We should call out demonic darkness, demons, and witchcraft an...
