Re: Pilgrim Mennonite Conference current events

I'm curious what people see as the pros and cons of a larger versus smaller conference. Also it seems to me that the more relevant metric is total number of members in the conference, rather than total number of churches. An ordained man from the "Southern District" of Pilgrim told me he ...

Re: Pilgrim Mennonite Conference current events

I heard the other day that Pilgrim Mennonite Conference may soon be disintegrating into several different groups and that their next annual conference will be their last one. Does anyone know whether this is in fact the case? It was decided at some point that the conference would be divided when th...

Re: History of the Garden City Confession of Faith

I recently listened to this sermon on the Pilgrim Ministry site about the Garden City Confession. The sermon was given at a Pilgrim church in 2019. https://www.pilgrimministry.org/sermons/history-of-the-garden-city-confession-of-faith It was interesting to hear their perspective on it. I have seen ...

Maybe not https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hive_(ransomware) In January 2023, following a joint US–German investigation involving 13 law enforcement agencies, the United States announced that the FBI had "hacked the hackers" over several months, resulting in seizure of the Hive ransomware gro...

Re: Will the Old Orders who raise tobacco start raising marijuana?

Just curious on people’s opinions. I’ve heard discussions on it, that “it’s just a matter of time.” Amish have been raising cannabis . Considering it’s a felony to transport marijuana across state lines, I’m wondering how California buyers are going to get it. Maybe they got the same legal advice A...

Re: Features of Lancaster Mennonite Conference that transmitted to Conservative Spin-offs

I think there is no more overblown issue than the ah versus pre debate. But not just overblown when the two sides debate, but talking about if a group is this or that. While I openly admit I am more ah, and more of Eastern leans pre, I really do not think it matters much. My point is that Eastern a...

As I recall in my early teens there were young people older than myself who went to, I believe it was, Millwood Bible School for several weeks. I think it was somewhere in the Lancaster area.
