Re: Eastern Mennonite’s Liberty Ridge Farm
From what I hear, there are a number of EPMC folks getting frustrated that the Bishops call EPMC a "conferring fellowship" but in reality their only option is to confer to whatever the bishops decide. Well, Pilgrim isn’t really any different. Fellowships on the other hand tend to have mem...

Re: The Dog that Bit People
One, then done. Take it out back and shoot it. Depending who finds out you did that, you would be in big trouble. In most people's minds, the humane way to put a dog down is to take them to a vet to have the deed done. And instead of having an arm or leg bitten, you will have to pay an "arm an...

Re: Unwritten, yet commonly understood rules/standards/beliefs that your church has?
Oh.....and another "commonly understood" was that the top botton ONLY on the men's suit coat was to be buttoned. The other buttons were merely decoration. Buttoning any other buttons was considered to be "out of order" and/or "out of church uniform". And the women's co...

Re: (Plain) Mennonite driving habits
I had Driver's Ed when I was 15 and I think it should be mandatory. I suppose I'm showing my ignorance, but are there some states that don't require Driver's Ed before letting people drive initially (other than farm-related equipment/vehicles)? My grandson in MS recently got his license. I don't th...

Re: Why Black ?
The Model T was the first affordable vehicle for the common person. Henry Ford supposedly said a customer can get it in any color they want so long it is black. I think the "black car" thing hearkens back to that era.
