Re: So, what changes if Biden or Trump wins in November?

This is an interesting discussion - on the one hand is the argument that, in reality, who is president has very little effect on one's daily life as Christians. And on the other hand, America as we know it will burn with fire and smoke depending on who is elected. While I don't think this is an esp...

Re: The Last Good President

When we think of good and bad kings in the old testament, we judge that based on whether the king followed God or led the people deeper into sin. It would seem to me, that the same criteria should be applied to presidents.

Re: So, what changes if Biden or Trump wins in November?

Maybe I am wrong, but seems to me that conservative Mennonites are rather sheltered to some extent to political changes due to their more insular culture. On the other hand, some people may work in professions where it has a bigger effect.

Re: Another adult subject

In terms of the original post, I would be disgusted by any man or leader that somehow made the suggestion the wife holds some responsibility for her husband's adultery. In terms of western wear, I live in a small ranch town where everyone dresses that way except for a few transplants like myself bec...

Re: Finding a "Kingdom Christian" Church in my Area

The idea of someone wearing a headcovering and watching television is basically only found in anabaptist circles. I suppose you mean groups who expect headcovering, not individuals??? It is my guess that the majority of women on Head Covering Movement Facebook Community Group watch television. That...

Re: Have Christians unintentionally caused abortions?

Chris said, “Way easier for them 10 years later in a sobbing fest if it gets revealed to say "I had an abortion 10 years ago", than having a 10 year old out of wedlock. That child will constantly be called "out of wedlock" by the church. You know it, and I know it.” Any Amish or...

Re: Finding a "Kingdom Christian" Church in my Area

I’m not aware of any CoC as conservative as BMA, which would mean headcovering, nonresistance, and modest attire at the very least. Headcovering and modest attire can be found in not just splinter groups of the church of christ but almost every protestant denomination. While an apolitical belief ca...

Re: Finding a "Kingdom Christian" Church in my Area

This post is for those that are familiar with what I have read and heard referred to as Kingdom Christian beliefs. I am coming from a Protestant / Evangelical background and relatively recently discovered teachings by people such as David Bercot, Finnny Kuruvilla, and Dean Taylor.  I would very muc...

Re: What does "plain" mean to you?

Where I clipped the context doesn't change the Spirit of the verse as far as I see it. I wasn't try to distort anything and if I wanted to give you the whole context I would have quoted the entire bible. The bible isn't meant to be read as a legal document to see what it doesn't say. Just because i...

Re: Do most Mennonites consider themselves Protestant?

I should also add that from an ethnic standpoint there is not a more white church in the world then anabaptist. That's only true in North America. Globally, over a third of all Mennonites are in Africa, and nearly another third in Asia and Latin America. https://mwc-cmm.org/resources/mwc-global-sta...
