Re: Preach it Bro !
and where fleeing civilization and "homesteading" become spiritual callings. could you please enlarge on this? The Millennialism and Dispensationalism of today are reactions to the collapse of Post millennialism, at least in the US context. After the Civil war, theology that put the Union...

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
Who knows, whatever happens, I don't think the most likely scenario will be a smooth transition to driverless cars in dense urban areas.

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
Ken, I like your vision of a more people friendly, less car centric future but how sure are you the balance of power and law will not be captured by the tech giants for their ends. Just 100 years ago the streets were legally given over to the automobile and simply being in the street without a car w...

Re: Is Biden Fit to be President?
President Biden might be worse off than I think or not, it's hard to know which news feed to believe. I do recall most of the people who are convinced he is basically an invalid also thought the same of Senator Fetterman and many of them said with certainty Senator Clinton was at death's door while ...

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
Also, it is substantially easier to design a self-driving vehicle that is constrained to a few square miles of one urban area with staff available to extract vehicles from pinches. I have some questions how self driving tech will work out in dense urban areas with pedestrian culture. Drivers that h...

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
We will see a release of self driving taxis this fall from Tesla. Once that happens, I suspect every Tesla sold will have FSD (Full Self Driving) installed. It does cost $100 a month for the feature. Once that goes down, we will see it implemented in many more. I see this going large in the cities ...

Re: Failed: Pastor Shooting Attempt - Western PA
I'm glad this didn't happen in the Liberty University chapel. It looks like this congregation handled it well. It seems like they were able to balance the violent nature of the situation with genuine care for the perpetrator.

OK but I guess my brain can't comprehend your argument. To me, I took what he was saying similar to how RZehr took it. It must align well with your worldview, and in this case, it aligns near mine but not exactly. I don't eschew the political system to gain a higher or more spiritual level, I do it...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?
I don't know much about this specific community but areas of urban decay and drug abuse are often heavily populated by people who moved there from other places. I see value in searching out the push factors that drove them out of their original communities and working to stop the system on that end.

Ken, I really like MattY's analysis in this thread but on this point, I think I agree with you.
