Re: Worldbook Encyclopedia Censorship Topics
Thanks for the replies. I am aware of the filtered wikipedia file. I guess I'm old school enough that I'd rather see my children sitting on a chair with a book instead of looking at a screen. Maybe censorship wasn't the best word to use in an unqualified sense. I'm not too concerned about reading an...

Worldbook Encyclopedia Censorship Topics
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a compiled list of subjects in Worldbook encyclopedias (or other publishers) that should be considered for censorship in a Christian home setting? I'm getting a set for around the home with young children as well as home school use and I know there will be a signific...

Re: CAM Molestation Issue
The irony in this whole issue is that while the internet/social media which is lifted up as the means by which this issue is exposed and not "swept under the rug", it may well be the source by which JMast originally fed and grew his lust. I'm not saying there wasn't this kind of sin before...

Re: CAM Molestation Issue
Our experiences are different. Your experience has clearly been positive and seems to relate much to those on the field. My genuine compassion is towards those missionaries who’ve given their lives out of love and are being negatively affected by this tragedy. To the contrary, the individuals I’ve ...

Re: CAM Molestation Issue
I'm just going to throw a twist into this to do some thought provoking. Before I do I want to emphasize that I think JM needs to be held accountable to the law for his crimes. Lets place ourselves in Saudi Arabia or Nazi Germany where homosexuality is against the law. Assume we're confronted with a ...

Re: Anabaptist Sex Offender Watch List
Trudy Metzger's list seems quite a good idea if it contains all potential sex offenders, i.e. all men who are possibly dangerous. I would propose that some well-known and acknowledged members of the Menno Churches have themselves included into the list - in which case it will be far more simple for...

Re: Anabaptist Sex Offender Watch List
I can't make a blanket statement as each situation is different. Wouldn't have Paul committed death sins (at least in the spirit of the law as Jesus taught) with delivering Christians up for judgement?

Re: Anabaptist Sex Offender Watch List
I agree. Long ago I heard that the Holdemans have some sort of "forever" restriction on people who commit certain sins. Something like, if somebody does a certain thing they are excommunicated and can never be quite 100% restored, at least when it comes to membership or holding certain ch...

Re: Anabaptist Sex Offender Watch List
I would like to say that if your concern is that she's accusing Stanley Fox without providing evidence then people made that same argument regarding Paul and Eli Weaver. There were a few people on social media platforms who were particularly adamant that Paul Weaver could not have possibly know and...

Re: Anabaptist Sex Offender Watch List
Like I said earlier, I understand the emotion in the desire for this list. I believe a list like this is ripe for unintended consequences which should be evaluated at length before any action is taken.
