Re: Is Biden Fit to be President?
Speaking of fitness for president. This is from today. At least neither Biden nor Trump have actual worms eating their brains (that we know about). You just can't make this stuff up can you? And if RFK Jr. was more than just a egotistical vanity candidate, he would actually be the 2nd oldest preside...

Re: War in Gaza
Military spending effectively is short term stimulus. And most the stimulation is of wealthy contractor pockets. Well yes. And often not even stimulus at all. Just a transfer of wealth to wealthy investors who are squirreling the money away and not circulating it. My comment was in reference to the...

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
It’s hard to imagine a future where self governing cars have carte Blanche to just mow people over and get away with it. If they do, perhaps we could carry car-disabling firearms to fire upon any autonomous vehicles before they kill us. I predict the opposite. NHTSA won't allow any autonomous vehic...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?
I see zero problems with vagrancy laws and prison work camps for repeat offenders. The simple fact is, nobody HAS to use illegal street drugs, commit acts of violence, or yell at passersby. Work also provides dignity and in a compulsory setting, would steer such people into more healthy life habits...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?
So yes, you can round people up off the streets and detain them for violating vagrancy laws, but you can't actually send them to work camps unless you first put them on trial and convict them and the hard labor is part of their actual sentence. That might be possible in some cases, but most of the ...

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
Ken, I like your vision of a more people friendly, less car centric future but how sure are you the balance of power and law will not be captured by the tech giants for their ends. Just 100 years ago the streets were legally given over to the automobile and simply being in the street without a car ...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?
I am just getting involved again and attending the Salvation Army and one of their leaders mentioned to me yesterday that none, yes zero, of the people that come for help on a weekly basis, and there are many, show up for the church services on Sunday. This is interesting and I want to explore this...

Re: Poll: Auto Accident Fatalities and Injuries
In places like Manhattan I expect people will learn they can just walk in front of them which will basically re-write the rules of right of way on the streets and highways allowing pedestrians, cyclists, scooter users, etc. to claim rights of way. It has the potential to greatly increase traffic co...
