What specific issues related to Freedom of Religion do you think Harrison Butker raised in his speech that are being threatened?

Re: HPV and Cancer link
i believe this topic has been specific to the HPV vaccine, not about measles or other. i have no sense that anyone posting is sharply against the HPV vaccine, but see it as best decided on an individual basis. No one is deciding whether or not to take the HPV vaccine on an INDIVIDUAL basis. They ar...

Re: HPV and Cancer link
It is generally not the schools. Only Rhode Island, Virginia, and DC include the HPV vaccine in the list of required school vaccines. Can you explain to us how a school has any right at all to demand children be vaccinated for an STD? Last I checked, sexual activity isn’t supposed to be happening a...

Re: HPV and Cancer link
“Refusing to treat for a future illness is sin” - can you show me where the Bible teaches this? The HPV vaccine in particular really stretches this. I do not see where the Bible teaches “it’s a sin not to take a vaccine that makes you less likely to get a disease that overwhelmingly results from fo...

Re: HPV and Cancer link
P.3: you do you If-only .. If only .. These vaccines represent a great example of where “you do you” (without being hounded to the last breath) applies. Overall risk is low, for celibate children+individuals as described in this thread,, extremely low, choices should be respected. If only .. The wo...

Re: HPV and Cancer link
I find the idea of redefining hpv as a “childhood disease” disturbing. It is a childhood vaccine, not a childhood disease. The longer you wait to administer it, the less effect. Ultimately your children will be responsible for their own adult choices in the future as you will be for the choices tha...

Re: HPV and Cancer link
Ken, People who engage in fornication eventually are punished with eternal torment unless they repent. Incurable, painful STDs are just a foreshadowing of that. If your children ever get cancer I'm sure you will be happy to tell them and their children this very thing. That it is God's will that th...

Re: Revival Meetings in Evangelical/Mainline Anabaptist
I don't think that big revival meetings were every really an overt policy of mainstream Mennonite conferences. My understanding of this history is that certain Mennonite individuals such as the Brunk brothers started their own stand-alone revival ministries that were not really under the auspices of...

Re: War in Gaza
When it comes to Christians in Israel or Gaza, or other war-torn areas, I think the best thing to do is flee the area. The New Testament tells Christians similar things in various hostile situations. There are political situations where it just doesn't work to try and live out your faith as a Chris...
