My 25-year-old son is in China to teach English. He had a mental breakdown and is now in a mental hospital. He's refusing to talk with the Embassy at this point. I have not been able to talk with him. Please pray for him. If anyone knows any English-speaking Christian contacts in Beijing who might b...

Re: Your Best Baked Chicken Recipe

I like to shake it in a bag with flour, salt, curry powder, and plenty of cayenne pepper before baking. I also prefer the dark meat.

No running around in private jets, buying lavish mansions, etc.

Yes, we care about the immediate much more than something that might be a generation away.

I don't really understand why some people think it's important to campaign against mainstream science. Re: Net Gain or Loss: Assuming the earth warms up.

Climate change has been evident throughout earth's history - no new news there. Geological core samples of earth and ice give hard evidential proof of this. Mankind simply picks up and moves to a different locale that meets its needs rather than holding expensive conferences to try to avoid the ine...

Re: War Games

I'm a pacifist. I usually enjoyed Risk growing up, but it sometimes made for bad feelings. People made alliances (or people thought others were ganging up against them) and broke them leading to resentment and anger. My parents took the game away for a year one time. I enjoy chess. I was my Jr. High...

Curious if anyone has changed their mind yet from their view before this thread began ? Any converts ?

I've at least gained a bit more respect for the other opinion.

Re: Global Warning/Climate Change

It is funny that as soon as a warm spell hits, they blame climate change, but when cold spells hit, they claim it is just a variance and no indication that climate change is not happening. For a helpful partial explanation of the immediate weather, check the jet stream maps. http://squall.sfsu.edu/...

Re: Global Warning/Climate Change

-10F this morning. I sure could use some global warming. Supposed to be close to -20F tonight. I expect you are just trying to be funny and complain of the cold. We had -17°F here recently but only supposed to get down to -15°F here tonight. Brrr! But global warming causes all kinds of climate chan...
