Planted garden today. Peas, potatoes, onions, shallots, carrots, beets, lettuce, spinach, radishes, swiss chard & kale.

Its supposed to rain overnight so everything should be off to a good start.

The strawberries are blooming.

Had the first picking of asparagus for supper last evening.

Hot dogs need cheese on them at our house.

Corn fritters are delicous! Especially with ketchup on them!

Potato cakes are another favorite.

Is it because people want to be "in" regardless of if they actually like it or not?

We have natural gas heaters that work while the electricity is off. The furnace won't work without electricity, though. The gas stove works but the oven doesn't.

We do have a generator we can use if we need to run things with electric.

My grandma used to make the best black walnut cake!

I like it, but not all of my children do. So I only make pork n saurkraut sometimes. This year we didn't have any.

Twizzlers is 'plastic', not real licorice. And black is the only real licorice!
