Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
Well, it would have been obvious to the casual observer that my wife was not a nun, especially with me at her side. We never seemed to be noticed before, but a number of Swiss actually courteously approaches us, normally on the train, and asked if we spoke english, than some derivative of...

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
The Swiss mennonites, to the best of my knowledge, do not head cover, but I don't know about the Germans. Only ones I have run into have been some of the conservative breakaway dutch reformed. J.M. I can confirm that the Swiss Mennonites do not head cover. There are only a few Christian groups head...

Re: Apostolic Christian Church
Maybe the 500th year since the Reformation brought more interest/recognition into focus? Over the last year, the topic came up in my news feed; the topic, tourists, meetings, etc. I doubt it since the reformation has nothing to do with head covering. Might have to do with more plain people coming o...

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
Only long enough to get in and out of the airport. That's a pity. Zurich as the "cradle of anabaptism" has quite a lot of interesting sites to visit. Birthplaces of Felix Manz and Conrad Grebel, Grossmünster where Zwingli was preaching, the spot where Manz was drowned and in nearby Zollik...

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
Nazarene refugees from Eastern Europe settling in Sweden. The location of the first congregation est. 1969 was in Örkelljunga. So the only Nazarenes in Sweden are in Örkelljunga? To my knowledge there are two congregations but I don‘t know the location of the second one. Perhaps Karstan knows more.

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
I am in Switzerland now, trying to find as many old hidden Alttäufergemeinde churches as I can, it sure is not easy. J.M. Nice. Not sure what you are looking for but the Mennonite Conference of Switzerland has a website listing all operating Mennonite congregations in Switzerland with links to the ...

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
Americans are not all geographically challenged. On the other hand ... LOL, well Australia / Austria is the other classic confusion. Switzerland is also sometimes confused with Swaziland but the latter now changed names to Eswatini so that should be fine. To be fair, ask any European where the stat...

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
Hi Swissbro, I only refer to the Nazarene side in Europe not the ETG (which I’m assuming your background is?). There are still Nazarenes living in Sweden, they are often visited by the churches from Germany. I am German so there’s no confusion there. And Nazarenes are Fröhlich churches, not sure of...

Re: Apostolic Christian Church
Does the ACC Nazarean have a website? This is the branch that continues full time head covering, yes? The group as a whole does not. Some affiliated organisations in America do. How would one go about finding one of their churches? Do the affliated groups have a website? ACC(N) have a website: http...

Re: Best Resources for the Practice of Head-covering
Where is the church[es] is Sweden? Karstan probably confused Sweden with Switzerland (happens all the time). Switzerland is the birthplace of S. H. Fröhlich, the founder of the ACC and still an important center of the faith in Western Europe (along with Germany), whereas there is only one congregat...
