Re: The Didache: Your Thoughts

I am interested in the Didache and will watch the „centerplace“ video but please note that the channel is run by this weird progressive mormon dude. He has interesting content but bear in mind he is not in any way theologically sound or trustworthy.

Re: The Lord's Prayer

This refers to the second coming of Christ and the following 1000 year kingdom. This is why one could argue that this prayer is not a template for the church, because the church does not wait for the second coming but for the rapture. With the rapture, the Holy Ghost will also move to heaven and the...

Re: The Lord's Prayer

Can you give an example of this proclaiming that you are opposed to ? There are those, often in the Charismatic movement, that will decree or declare something to powerfully speak something into existence, sometimes called a 'positive confession'. Is this the proclaiming you are referring to ? Exac...

Re: The Lord's Prayer

Hallow comes from holy, holy means separate in Hebrew. Therefore I understand hallowing His name, keeping it holy, as in, not using it in vain, as the command goes. A note on praying in the group as you set out above, the wording might imply this prayer to be said by the congregation. I am wary of t...

Re: The Lord's Prayer

Jesus taught it before the Holy Ghost descended upon the church. Now that we have the Holy Ghost, we do not need a formula but can pray in the Spirit. However, it is a useful (and beautiful) template or guideline also showing the right priority for our prayers: give praise first, pray for the Kingd...

Re: Paper Ballots vs. Voting Machines vs. both

Urim and tummim. In Switzerland it‘s still paper ballots. Government has been wanting to introduce a digital system for years but no system was found to be safe enough from bugs and hacking, and at the same time protecting the voting secret so far. P.S. I think they also manually count the votes. It...

Re: Dispensationalism, John Darby, etc.

I‘m pretty much a full blown Darby style dispensationalist. Recently heard a Brethren teacher talk about Zephanjah 2.4 4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. The Ashkelon, Asdod and Ekron bits were fulfilled...
