Re: MennoNet and Genealogy
It is interesting to me that there are numerous words in the PA Deutsch that are also in Yiddish. I am not sure which direction the ' contamination ' went but I am guessing it was Schwaben Deutsch words that were taken into the Yiddish. Yiddish is influenced by High German, not Schwaben Deutsch. As...

Re: MennoNet and Genealogy
Yiddish is close to/influence by German. PA Dutch, as has been said, is really PA Deutsch. That is, Deutsch is German. So the Yiddish/Deutsch connection is pretty obvious. I can understand both bits of PA Dutch and Yiddish because of my fluency in High German. There's also a lot of Hebrew in Yiddis...

Re: NFL “values”

I don't think there's a point in getting outraged about something that hasn't happened.
I also think it's fair game for people to criticize Buckter.

Re: NFL “values”
NFL “values” Returning to the very simple+direct subject line AND OP, does anyone have anything to add wrt NFL “values”? .. and/or lack thereof. It’s hard to add anything-much to THE BEE pieces. I'm confused by the purpose of this thread. At this point, 12:04 Mountain State Daylight Time on May the...

Re: Poll: Daniel Perry - Should he have been pardoned?
Baltimore has a long history of corrupt politicians. I was a resident when Major Sheila Dixon was indicted (the first and second time). After I moved to Colorado, Major Catherine Pugh was arrested and pled guilty to corruption charges surrounding self-published children's books (I'm not making this ...

Re: NFL “values”
If i recall, “values” is the noun and subject here, NFL is an adjective. My main interest is in the values in question, whether the NFL has grounds to claim values, and what they might be. i think The Bee is hitting the nail on the head. Don’t you? Jeremy is just out hunting imagined dinasours, as ...
