Re: Russia Invades Ukraine 2022
"Eventually" is a long, unspecified time. Unfortunately, Putin demonstrated the need for NATO when Russia invaded its neighbor. We invaded Iraq and Afghanistan. We caused Libya, Syria and Egypt’s unrest. Who is the power that is honorable above all? No human nation will ever follow its ow...

Re: Russia Invades Ukraine 2022
Tide turned a long time ago, but they haven’t lost yet. I don’t expect Ukraine to hold out without boots on the ground from Allies. I think if NATO ends up in the Ukraine, then it's no longer a regional conflict and we might be looking at World War III. I don't think anyone has the appetite for tha...

He isn't charging for the content, only for the filtration process. The content itself is still technically distributed freely. Essentially (as I understand it) his customers are paying for the EXCLUSION of content, not for that which is included. But I guess you could take it up with him directly,...

Yes, that's him. I'd say he has done a tremendous amount of work, pouring through basically all of the articles that might contain photos, diagrams, or text info that a conservative parent would not want to have available to a child. (It is, of course, a parent's rightful place to be able to do thi...

Re: Sattler College Turmoil
Based on their practices in Uganda, I'd say no. The sacrament of marriage hasn't taken place in a domestic partnership. With that said, I don't think I'd put great stress on "legal marriage," because that's a whole other issue. Imagine a government that ceases to recognize the marital sta...

Re: Sattler College Turmoil
As far as the source of salvation, of course we believe that salvation comes from Jesus. He uses the means of baptism to make His saving grace available to us, just like we believe that marriage is an act performed by God. (The preacher and the state don't make marriage happen.) But God brings marr...

Re: 2/3 of Roman Catholic Churches in Baltimore to close
Perhaps the reality is that the people with ethnic and religious affiliation moved - probably to escape Baltimore’s ridiculous levels of crime. When I lived in Baltimore, it was the reverse. The neighborhood I lived in was gentrifying and pushing out the locals. The so-called "Baltimore Renais...

Re: 2/3 of Roman Catholic Churches in Baltimore to close
I used to live a block over from the Our Lady of the Rosary High School in Fells Point, which closed in 2004. Most of the buildings were later torn down (highly controversial) to make room for new townhomes. I used to sometimes walk by St. Patrick's on Broadway. Rough neighborhood. The church had a ...
