Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises
Flawed as the conservative Mennonite community may be, the finances, emotions, and time invested in trying to help newcomers and their families assimilate into the community stands as a testament to a desire that the new community members will share in the cultural capital of the community. I'm not...

Re: Where are the Anabaptists in the UK?
I love the channel Ready to Harvest. This was a neat and thorough video looking at the very very small number of anabaptist church groups in the UK today. https://youtu.be/BJoTjDCAUDk?feature=shared There are bruderhof comunities in the UK I know. They fled there as well when escaping the Nazis. AF...

Re: Israel is Babylon the Great
Peace to you. First of all, this is not anti-Semitism/racism. The Bible itself does not teach racism. When the Bible speaks negatively about Jews, it refers to Jews who are not Christians, not ethnic Jews in general. After much research, I found out that according to the Bible, Israel is Babylon th...

Re: Where are the Anabaptists in the UK?
I have long been under the impression that there have never been large numbers of Anabaptist Christians in the UK... Unless you count the Plymouth Brethren. Nothing against them, but while they would technically rebaptize anybody baptized as an infant and anybody who wasn't baptized by immersion, f...

Re: Distinguishing Mountains from Molehills
In the first couple centuries of the church, they had the "rule of faith". (The "Apostles' Creed" is actually significantly newer - from the 400s, 500s, or so). There were plenty of other important things that they talked about, sometimes disagreeing, sometimes agreeing; but wit...

Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises
There are many things...from straight cuts to teetotaling to no ties to fundamentalist creeds, etc etc... do you think that any group of people are absolutely unchanged after 150 years? All groups adapt and define. Controversy forces definition. I would suggest that what you are misidentifying as &...

Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises
Vanishingly few people are in the churches their grandparents or great grandparents are in. That applies to basically every plain ordnung out there including Eastern, Pilgrim, Groffdale, Weaverland, etc...none of which existed 140 or so years ago... I don't know what you are seeing that I am not......

Re: Churches, Dealerships, and Franchises
I am not convinced that the movement in Anabaptist churches is primarily driven by "what we are allowed to do." That is a factor...however their are larger sociological and ecclesiological issues at play I think that are sector wide in the western/protestant churches that have folks lacki...
