Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?
Unfortunately, that's the best you can do for someone in that situation. I've hit a point where I don't think enabling an addiction is doing good at all. That's why I like working with places that have rather strict rules, so I know the help will actually be helping. The places and programs that I ...

Re: The Israeli state?
I do not agree with some of the Israel state structure. I do not agree with some of the Chinese, Muslim, African, and Ukrainian state structures. I do not agree with some of the US state structures. As I said, I know they have work to do. They are not throwing people off roofs or shooting them in t...

Re: The Israeli state?
While there are actually Arabs in the Israeli military and at last count (that I found) there are 10 Arabs in the Israeli Parliament...I'm sure there is discrimination of Arabs in Israel. Especially in the settler communities of West Banks. None but Jews are drafted. Are these Muslims (absolutely n...

Re: The Israeli state?
Arab citizens in Israel definitely do not have equal rights. Not even close. And more to the point, Israel claims control over the territory of the West Bank yet grants the people stuck living there almost no rights (including no right to vote). The end result of this is a minority gets to decide w...

Re: The Israeli state?
An obvious question is if this same concern for various ethnic groups to have a home and make a state of it extends to other people. Israel is run as an effective apartheid state where Jews have far more rights than non-Jews, regardless of citizenship. As do Muslim, Chinese, and many African states...

Re: Failed: Pastor Shooting Attempt - Western PA
It wouldn't have stopped with a mere tackle.... What do you mean? I haven’t watched the video. The assailant was restrained and then another man came over and removed the firearm from the assailant. Like taking a sharp object from a student "You might hurt yourself with this." I would hav...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/student-raised-400k-d-c-010143354.html Yeah. Just dealt with a homeless person that one of our congregants picked up from a doorway on the way to church. Dry clothes, fed, gift cards to provide for the next two meals. Tried to hook her up with a Christian group that runs ...

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
should have the main (Federal) channel open to 35 feet by the end of the week, maybe 2 weeks, depending how long it takes to remove the Dali. Ultimately, that channel is 50 feet, and will be again. Do not have a time frame on that. All of the plans we are seeing are for a cable stayed bridge. 5 year...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?
For the record, needle exchanges are as much to keep them from infecting others as themselves. About Tranq- It s a veterinary drug, Xylazine. It is an animal tranquilizer, not an opiate, so if someone ODs, Narcan is ineffective, and won’t help. It causes soft tissue necrosis at injection sites, whic...
