I pad lost my post, crashed. What was left made zero sense. I was clearing out the nonsense that resulted to spare you all the pain of trying to figure it out.

Urban African Americans. Was over 50% in Baltimore when I graduated college in 1979. Now it is even higher.

Mayor of Baltimore just had a child out of wedlock.

Re: Poll: Daniel Perry - Should he have been pardoned?

Fired a pistol at person who was carrying just like he was in an open carry state. Is this the OK corral?

I more than suspect that politics was involved in this pardon.

Re: Mennonite Girl ,3, swept over waterfalls,2 years ago, parents now charged

We currently live in a society when there are activists pushing against any prison time for outright stealing, carjacking, running from the cops, threatening many others' lives. Against such a backdrop, punishing these parents seems outright absurd. One of them was, in fact, elected Mayor of Baltim...

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

I'm not gonna fight about it. Josh is absolutely right that nobody quits until they hit rock bottom. He is also right that drug use is a choice. I doubt very much that he's correct when he says it's "ultimately easy." If it's so simple, why are we such abject failures at helping people wi...

Anyway I'm just rambling on but would love to hear more thoughts from others on this. Do you know personally of an unchurched person who became a Christian and quickly experienced radical changes in their lives ?
That should be a thread all in its own! 8-)
Me.

Re: Morals & ethics behind supporting certain mission efforts?

This subject should be spun off into its own thread. I see both Sightist's point and Josh's, both at the same time. I'm not gonna fight about it. Josh is absolutely right that nobody quits until they hit rock bottom. He is also right that drug use is a choice. I doubt very much that he's correct wh...

Re: Mennonite Girl ,3, swept over waterfalls,2 years ago, parents now charged

Goodness, I cannot imagine losing a child in such a tragic accident and then getting charged by the state with criminal neglect. It is likely child neglect. That about sums it up. Like giving your child a dangerous tool unsupervised, or leaving your child in a closed car, especially in summer. What...

Re: When the boys start coming around...

... or girls, for that matter :D This is aimed towards parents with adult children (age 18 and over). How much of an influence did you have when it came to your child's choice in life partner? Did you attempt to influence them towards certain ones? Interfere and refer them away from others? Did you...
