Re: Seekers Gathering 2018?

Anyone who believes that their church is the true church is not invited unless they are seriously open to questioning that belief. It looks like this event specifically excludes Holdemans. Is there any way to get an exception so I can attend? For example, we could be asked to refrain from pushing o...

Re: Seekers Gathering 2018?

I will make a longer post when I have the time, but in brief, I really understand your reticence if you have had the Church of Christ “experience”. I got the CoC experience full blast at KFW 2015 & 2016 and AIC 2017, complete with doubting my salvation for a few hours or days before snapping ba...

Re: Do you class the Muensterites as Anabaptists?

Peter: In my travels, I had occasion to visit the Munster (Westphellia) Stadtmuseium. I saw a rather curious book displayed. authored by one Durrenmatt, called "The Anabaptist" (Die Wiedertaufer). Cover illustration is some spirits dancing around the crucified Christ. I don't read German, ...

New Years Eve Weekend

Does anyone know of any Conservative Mennonite "event" happening in the east over this weekend? Due to a "No 5th Sunday" service thing at our home church we have this weekend without commitments. We were wondering if there is anything going on.

Re: The adventures in Daphna Dale.....

A new thread to tell about some of our adventures at our new home. A few weeks ago my wife calls/texts that the water pressure in the house has significantly dropped. Later she informs me that there's no water in the house now. I've replaced a well pump before, but knew that this well was 500' deep...

Re: Museum of the Bible

Dominating “Bible in America” is a bizarre series of murals [...] We see a disembodied, presumably divine hand with a quill pen poised above Article VI of the Constitution. Assuming that this description gives an accurate impression of the mural, I find it extraordinary that a museum dedicated to t...

Re: Museum of the Bible

They recommend arriving by Metro anyway, so take Amtrak from any convenient station, or a flight into DCA, and Metro the rest of the way. You will save $$$ by using MARC, the local commuter railroad from the Maryland side, or VRE from the Virginia side. The 7$ or so one way fare is much more reason...

Re: Reasons For/Against Rebaptism

Old German Baptist Brethren (New Conference) do not hold to one true church teaching or apostolic succession, yet they will still require a new convert to be baptised, even if they were previously immersed thrice at eg a Grace Brethren type of church as an adult and as a believer. Maybe they like a...

Re: Museum of the Bible

Yeah, I'd like to see it, too. Don't know that I will, 'cause I don't want to drive in DC. You will save $$$ by using MARC, the local commuter railroad from the ...

Re: Texas Baptist Church shooting

Years ago there was men targeting Christians, and those Christians would flee. Some would be caught, and later killed. My feeling is that if we really felt that we were in danger meeting the way we do, we would regularly change the service time and locations around. I think that we intuitively know...
