Not I. In fact, I'm not sure I have any confidence in any numbers from anywhere, but yeah...

Re: What does "plain" mean to you?

"Plain" is often a moving target. I think we can better identify what is NOT plain instead of what IS plain. For instance, a plainly dressed O/O man with the hat and suspenders and no vehicle being well known in the community as a greedy land grabber is NOT plain, imho.

Re: Sins Unto Death

Thanks Karstan, I read the Fröhlich letter as follows: Gross sins entail excommunication. However, the repenting sinner can be readmitted unless that he committed a sin unto death . As a consequence, it seems that if a sinner commits a sin unto death, he cannot be readmitted (and has probably also ...

Clicked "other." I would and have done all of these. No, I don't use Sunday as my weekly shopping trip or run the fuel tank almost dry on Saturday for an excuse to buy gas on Sunday, but let's not split hairs here. Our Sunday is NOT the same as the old law Sabbath. Jesus is our Sabbath, He...

Re: Sins Unto Death

Interestingly enough, our sermon yesterday morning was on this very topic, sin. I think 1John 5 explains this topic well. It is my belief, as the pastor yesterday said, that there are "sins" that do not separate us from God, causing spiritual death if you will. 1John 5 says that all unrigh...

Re: Multi-level Marketing Scemes?

As someone involved with MLM, let me say this. Not all MLM businesses are schemes, nor do all of them sell something you could probably do without. (I could give you more info if interested! )MLM is a legitimate way of earning a living, or for sure earning a bit "extra", it's just to...

Re: Dilemmas in Business

In terms of causing offense, I actually think I would be more likely to cause offense/cause someone to stumble by compromising on an issue like this and providing my services in support of something that I declare to be sinful. My non-christian neighbors are watching to see whether I will be uncomp...

Re: Dilemmas in Business

"Hate the sin but love the sinner" is something we need to keep in mind. We can't be enablers, but maybe we err too much on the side of 'guilty until proven innocent.' How do we know that our association with "one of those" isn't just what that person is looking for? Also, I bel...
