Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
I wish people would slow down on the panic buying and realize everything will be back in stock in a few days. We do not have enough stock for every American to buy 2 - 4 weeks of what they regularly consume without stores running out of things. In our current, just-in-time world, buying 2 - 4 weeks...

Re: Anabaptist Identity Conference 2020 - Mt. Hope, OH
I'm not taking supplements because of the virus- it's part of my daily routine to keep a healthy immune system. And I’m saying there is no guidance that that affects COVID-19. I’m going to be a stickler that any advice beyond what the CDC and WHO are saying is questionable advice. But.. But... what...

Re: Prepping for emergencies?
We've already stocked up on most essentials to prepare for the baby coming, since we live 45 minutes from town. The freezers are well stocked with meat and veggies for meals, the pantry shelves are embarrassingly full, and we're putting in our regular bulk order from Dutch Valley for flour and rice....

Just saw a Facebook post saying the conference is cancelled. Can anyone confirm this? I haven't seen anything official yet.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in ME this afternoon. My sister's university, along with a number of ME colleges have moved their classes online and asked students to leave campus. Commencement ceremonies may be cancelled as well, pending the spread of the disease over the next few months. ...

Re: Field Guide to Plain culture
For someone who is not culturally anabaptist and comes into the circle- especially by marriage- can be a bit disconcerting. I married into a Conservative Mennonite family and my name does not fit anyone's pigeon hole to place me in. In fact some even thought I was Jewish because I shared the same l...

Re: Mental Health Awareness & the Conservative Church(s)
We had a thread similar to this a few years ago and I know there's a handful of us that struggled. I am thankful that my church takes this issue seriously without downplaying it. I had posted on that thread sharing some of my experiences with depression and anxiety. It's still something I struggle ...

Re: Modest Clothing Directory
https://www.zulily.com/ Zulily has a large turnover of vendors and collections, and much of what is available changes daily. I've found modest children's clothing through here, and comfy modest maternity clothing as well. https://oldnavy.gap.com/ They stopped selling nice skirts, but I've found some...

We had been hoping to attend again this year, but we also have a little one due making their arrival around that time. Will the dial-in option be available?
