Re: The cape dress: Its origins and evolution over the ages
Just a couple thoughts: Actually Jesus does mention clothing (even on the sermon on the mount!) Matthew 6: 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body ...

Re: Jacob Ammon & the "Martyrs Mirror"
So, I was recently listening to this episode of Anabaptist Perspectives https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ua0XTnUoYSU&t=200s&pp=ygUWQW5hYmFwdGlzdCBwZXJzcGVjdGl2ZQ%3D%3D Around the 2:40 mark he displays a timeline that might be applicable. There is another timeline on church planters forum called...

Re: Fussy babies during church services... Part 2
This can be difficult to manage in a church because I feel some people really aren't bothered by a fair amount of fussing and can still focus on the sermon/prayer/etc, but others really do get distracted easily if a child starts fussing, even quietly, so they want all children out. If the child star...

Re: Couples who live like its the 1930s
I understand some of the utility of this type of lifestyle. My primary sewing machine is a 1938 Singer treadle. Appliances aren't made today like they used to - my Singer can sew anything from thin apparel fabric to leather, while my electric machine struggles with denim. There are downsides though....

I would take the candy sushi over candy corn. Pretty sure candy corn is just decorative candy and not fit for consumption.

Re: Good Things God
Innumerable earthly blessings - food to eat, a family, health, roof over our head.
But more importantly, the Spiritual blessings. Salvation- no matter how vile I was, God redeems! No longer a slave to sin, and the giving of His Spirit which turns even the most difficult trials into blessings.

Private Revelation?
I'm a horrible person, but I avoid such people. There is no point in trying to converse with someone who has all the answers. When the know-it-all person is a family member, possibly a sibling, it is difficult to avoid them. Fortunately the conversations aren't one on one, but in a group setting. H...

Re: 101 last chances?!
At what point does one stop giving bad situations "another six months" or another chance to prove something good can come out of a relationship? When I was younger I really had a hard time accepting that you just can't please everyone so I got myself wrapped up in friendships that were to...

Re: Insomnia
I struggled with really intense and persistent insomnia for over a year, and chalked it up to anxiety. Then I started getting chest pains that were just terrible, and breathing really heavy because I felt like I couldn't catch my breath. I also chalked this up to anxiety and told myself I need to ch...

Instant Pot. I use it more than all other gadgets combined. Mostly for making soups and stews. Another extremely nice tool is this little gem which lets you make microwave popcorn using regular popcorn. Which is much cheaper and healthier. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087QJ7YL3/ Instant pot 1...
